festive.

christmas is less than a week away. eeeek. that makes me really excited. christmas is such a tingly time of year. the lights, the decorated trees in windows, the music on the radio all day, the shoppers, the baking, the yummy meals, santa, the traditions.....i kind of can't get enough.

of course, my college priest, emails me on the regular to remind me what christmas is really all about. and i totally appreciate him for doing just that. because sometimes i need that reminder. LBJ {little baby jesus} is what it's all about, yes. but all the extra stuff is a total bonus. like when i ask laney who is coming to town and she says as stoked as can be, "SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN, EEEEEEE!" it melts me entirely. and how she saw their magic santa key hanging on their door tonight and told me alllll about it. it kind of doesn't get any better.

some other festive going abouts:

1. the stout children's annual christmas shopping spree and dinner
a. i promise, my brother is a friendly guy and not a murderer.
b. my sister really is a weirdo.

2. days off from work and breakfast in bed

3. baking cookies, the smell of cookies, eating cookie dough
a. i have my cookie swap for work tomorrow.
b. the cookie i chose is this gem, cool whip cookies.
c. it literally calls for FOUR ingredients. heck yes!
d. c/o duncan hines and my homeboy foodbuzz, i had a coupon for a free cake mix. hot diggity!
e. duncan hines...you make a mean lemon cookie. like an A+ plus, two thumbs up, academy award cookie.

4. ugly sweater bashes with white elephant gift exchanges

a. the food was yummy and the company was wonderful.
b. until i got in a fight with someone i didn't know and she decided to leave. #sorryimnotsorry
c. the gift i put under the tree was that cute six-pack of beer.
d. i made those reindeer by sticking some pipe cleaners around the head and glued some googly eyes and a nose on the neck. thanks, pinterest for your clever ways!
e. i went home with a cute santa cup and a $5 dunkin donut gift card.
f. i have a new obsession: you don't know jack.

and not really festive things at all....

a. i just simply love me some egg sandwiches and pickles and tostito fire-roasted chipotle chips.
b. i also simply love mcdonald's grilled chicken southwest salad. the golden arches RULE!

and now it's 12:20 at night and i'm not tired at all. like whatttt? i'm currently watch the holiday for the second time tonight. as in, back-to-back. good golly. i don't love cameron and i don't love jack black and i don't even love jude law. but in this movie? i love them all!

i've just been lazy. pinning and etsy'ing and watching an overload of christmas flicks via the hallmark channel and foxfamily and lifetime. this is my FAVORITE time of year.

i've just been drinking in all the holiday cheer.
indulging in tons of online christmas shopping.
