i've been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad blogger. and a lazy one, at that!

let's stumble through the last few days.
because they were good days. and they deserve to be shared.
because they were good days. and they deserve to be shared.
we had a lovely snowstorm.
i have been drinking way too many cups of coffee a day.

i fell asleep before 8:30 on friday. i kid you not. out like a light.
it was awesome. i need to do this way more often.
saturday i headed into the city for for some latin cuisine.
my friend and i have been eying alma de cuba up for months.
luckily, even though we were late for our reservation, they still took us.
it's a stephen starr restaurant and it truly lived up to every expectation i had.
we started with the yellowtail kingfish ceviche.
i've never had ceviche before.
it won't be my last time eating it!
this is unpictured because my friend didn't want me using my flash.
i ordered the chicken combo for my main dish.
and said heck with the no flash!
and said heck with the no flash!
marinated grilled breast over "arroz imperial" with shredded chicken, manchego cheese, peas and olives{straight off the menu}
i wanted to say no peas and olives...but i resisted.
ashley's dish:
panela chilean sea bass
creamy quinoa with a cubanelle sauce and a baby cucumber and poblano pepper saladi took a nibble, soooo good!
we split an order of sweet plantains.

reminded me of my ecuador days
after dinner we bar hopped a little bit.
met up with a few of ashley's friends.
met a girl who looked like taylor swift's twin.
we finished the night at one of our fave bars for a quick beer and than headed to the car.
after driving a block, we pulled over to find this...
sad looking land rover
we pulled over in an outside parking lot.

i called AAA.
the nice woman told me it would be anywhere between now and 3:19.
{it was a little bit after 2}
we waited...we waited...

we bundled up because it was so cold.

anthony couldn't get one of the bolts off the tire.
oyyyy.
he tried the tools that came with ashley's car.
no such luck.
he said we'd need to be towed.
apparently, AAA only tows up to 20 miles.
if it's further, they have to call in someone else to come to the rescue.
anthony told us he had no idea how long that would take.
ash's house was 19.7 miles away from where we were.
THANK LITTLE BABY JESUS!
we hopped in the tow truck and watched while anthony shimmied up the car.
