good morning!

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

my posting has been shamefully sporadic. i have no real reason as to why this is. but i'm thinking my job slump definitely has something to do with it. ho hum.

this weekend i came to the realization that i drink a whole lot of coffay. i mean, my consumption is slightly ridiculous. above the norm, that i am sure of. but i can't seem to ever get enough of the coffee ground goodness. i'm a lush, what can i say.

my alarm went off this morning way too early. i had plans on running. took one step outside and decided my body would much rather a swim. since i just bought some very cool goggles {after being inspired by leslie}, i figured i should give them a whirl. i did 20 laps and then my arms felt like jello. i also did 15 push-ups against the side of the pool. very difficult! the water resistance makes it super tough. i think i will be feeling it tomorrow.

next on the agenda: a big cup of joe!taste of perfection. chock full o'nuts coffee, fat free milk, a bunch of sugah.

i am going to try and make this my only cup for the today. but no promises.

back tracking...
i had a weekend full of panera bread. why? you may ask. well because i have fallen in love. i can't tell a lie. my heart is puddles of gooeyness.

and here is the apple of my eye...
bloggers, meet the strawberry poppyseed chicken salad.
it's only a seasonal salad. so i don't know what i'm going to do when he goes away for the winter. ack. i'll have to go visit....

i had this for the first time on friday. it was love at first bite. {edward cullen, where are you?} i sadly only got half of the salad. because i did a half salad/half sandwich diddy.

and while this mediterranean veggie sandwich was amazingly stuffed with peppers, feta cheese, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatos and cilantro jalapeno hummus on a tomato basil bread, i would have rather had a large strawberry salad instead.

which is why when kara was home on saturday, i had no objection to venturing back out to panera for lunch. you best believe i indulged in that yummy summer goodness!

yesterday for dinner i was craving a ballpark hotdog. therefore, that's exactly what i had. with the last of the sweet potato chips and some cherries.
i've been doing a lot of wishing lately. i think i'm just so bored with my current situation that i need something exciting to look forward to. i don't have any vacations planned and that makes me sad. hence the wishing.

top five wishes of the moment:

1. plan a trip to some place fun in the upcoming months
2. land a job in new york city or philadelphia
3. meet someone who i don't tire of in two weeks
4. learn how to juggle
5. become a mermaid

what have you been wishing lately?

water.

i kind of love this brad paisley song. it's so refreshing. and fun. and all sorts of summer sounding. like brad, i have a major love affair with water. i could spend hours upon hours hanging out in my pool. always have loved a good super soaker. never one to turn down a water balloon fight. the first one running into the ocean.

i hope your last hot saturday in june includes you soaking up the water!

Inflatable pool full of dad's hot air
I was three years old
Splashin' everywhere
And so began my love affair
With water

On a river bank
With all my friends
A big old rope tied to a limb
And your a big old wuss
If you don't jump in
The water

Yeah when that summer sun starts to beatin' down
And you don't know what to do
Grab your swimming trunks
Ice up that old igloo
Drive until the map turns blue

Daytona Beach on spring break
Eighteen girls up on stage
White t-shirts about to be sprayed
With water

Oh let'er go boys

Yeah when that summer sun starts to beatin' down
And you don't know what to do
Just go and grab someone you wanna see in a bathing suit
And drive until the map turns blue

You can stay right there
When the daylights gone
Play truth or dare
And it wont take long
'Fore you and her got nothin' on
But water

All you really need this time of year
Is a pair of shades
And ice cold beer
And a place to sit somewhere near
Water

walk like an egyptian

Thursday, June 24, 2010

i've been in an egyptian walking mood all week...

if that song doesn't make you want to get up and dance, i don't know what song will!

i've been MIA for a few days. it's probably because i've had to be into work at 6:30 every morning. it's probably because i'm exhausted by the time i get home. it's probably because i've been taking a mini computer break. it's probably because i just didn't have anything to say. it's probably because i have been lounging in the pool for hours upon hours after work. it's probably because i've had a lot of things to catch up on. mmm, or it's probably just a combination of all the above.

and since it's just been so darn long, here are a few pictures of my nibbles...

i am obsessed with this grapefruit juice
i'm obsessed with my lunch bag
i'm obsessed with tastykakes
not so obsessed with my desk at work
very obsessed with iced coffee
i'm obsessed with slices of pizza from food day
i wish i wasn't obsessed with strawberry icing donuts
i'm obsessed with watermellon and blueberry buckle from food day
totally obsessed with oatmeal squares: maple syrup

i am now off for a very hot run...not sure how long i'll last.

happy thursday, and cheers to friday!

happy father's day!

Sunday, June 20, 2010

dear dad,
happy father's day. you're kind of the best. and yes, i may be biased, but seriously, you're a rawkstar. thanks for being the world's greatest. i feel so lucky to have your positive outlook in life, big heart, love for jimmy buffet and wishful thinking attitude. you're the glue that keeps this family puzzle from falling to pieces.
i love you!

ps, that's a really awesome flyers hat. a really awesome girl must have gotten that for you!

happy father's day to all those cool dads out there!!

workin' for the weekend.

Thursday, June 17, 2010

good evening, blogging buddies! how you be? it's practically friday, so you all better be doing hella good. i know i am. what are your weekend plans? tomorrow night i have some wedding related stuff going on. which i kind of love. sort of like a wedding planning gig. yup, pretty fantastic, eh? and dinner with my work pal! saturday i am going to see this man...

http://www.phillymusicguide.com/shows/Brad-Paisley/BradPaisley.jpg
looking forward to rawking out with ya, brad! heck yes!

i crashed oh so early last night. i think it was because of my lack of sleep the night before and my early wake up call yesterday. i kid you not, tuesday night was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad sleep. like some serious tossing and turning. i hate having trouble sleeping. i think it had a lot to do with still having to get my dress fitted for the second time around. and feeling like it just doesn't fit the way i want it to. and that i have no money. but have bills to pay. and that i can't find a job that makes my heart pitter patter. i really dislike being such a worry wart. but i can't seem to help it. it's in my blood or something. thankfully, i took care of a bunch of things yesterday afternoon and reevaluated a lot of things in my life. i always try to remind myself of how lucky i really am. and how there is always someone else fighting a harder battle.

while i ran my errands yesterday and destressed, i snacked on this little gem
dinner was a yummy chicken sandwich from wawa with some cheddar sunchips on the side

and a much needed one of these...
i ended up CRASHING right before the ninth inning of the phillies game. i didn't get to see lights out lidge finish the yankees up. whatever, they won 6-3. holla. eat that, yanks!

since i fell asleep pretty early, i was wide eyed at 5:30. gah, that BARELY ever happens. i took advantage of it, laced up the sneaks and hit the pavement. a vigorating 2 mile run. i maybe could have done longer but i got really hungry!

i shower and whipped myself up some eggies on an arnold's thin.
it tasted sooooo good!

before work i stopped at double D's for a hot cup o' jo
the usual, cinnamon, cream, sugah

i was MUY excited to find this waiting for me at home...

who doesn't love getting mail? and hello! packages! definitely!

the first was from leslie. i won a giveaway she had over at her blog sponsored by coach's oats. i am overly tickled to to try these oats out. i feel like such a mess when it comes to making oatmeal...but i have high hopes! the bag is gigantic and i can't wait to dive in. i have some big plans.

i lurveeee the ingredients

next on the table, nature's pride. as part of the foodbuzz tastemaker program, i received a box of some of nature's prides newest members.

whole wheat bakery buns...
country white deli rolls...
country white bakery buns...
about nature's pride:
{borrowed from their site}

At Nature's Pride®, we make bread the natural way. Every Nature's Pride product is 100% natural. Just the way Mother Nature intended it. Our breads will never contain artificial flavors or colors. No high-fructose corn syrup. No trans fat. No artificial preservatives. Just the most delicious ingredients nature has to offer. Nothing less than 100%™. That's our promise. That's our pride™.

my dad couldn't believe how heavy the box was. he said that meant, "they were some quality rolls." he wanted to waste no time in checking them out. therefore, the menu for dinner tonight consisted of lunch meat sandwiches!

my sister chose the country white roll and gave it two thumbs up
she said it tasted like honey? she said it was so fresh and she couldn't wait to make another sandwich in the future.

my dad also went with a country white roll. he was most definitely impressed! he said the roll had such incredible flavoring and he liked the sturdiness of it. another two thumbs up.

i decided to make my turkey and muenster cheese sandwich on a whole wheat bun
it was delectable! it had a very distinct taste. i don't know what it was, but i liked!

which means a big SIX THUMBS UP from the not so ordinary household! mama was out shopping while we consumed din din.

i paired my mighty tasty sandwich with a mike's

on that v.v.v.v.very long note, i'm outta here to chillax all cool just like delaney is doing with her silly bands!

ciao bellas!

a fantasy in eden.

i feel like a terrible person. forever and a day ago i was given a little girl treat to review.

edenfantasys is an online adult toy store. they seriously have every item a person could ever think of. just when you think they might not have it, you look a little closer, and there it is! they have a little something for the freak in all of us. and lets be for real now, we're all a little freaky once in a while.

i was contacted by jenn from the eden community to join their product review program and i have failed miserably with finding a time to highlight the naughty bits. but in lieu of highlighting the bachelorette weekend, i figure no better time!

she sent me the silkies saturn vibe...

Silkies saturn - Traditional vibrator

i kind of really love the heart shaped button.

what the site says:

You’ll feel out of this world with the Silkies™ Saturn, a powerful multi-speed vibrator designed specifically for the highest in quality and comfort. Made with a seamless rubber cote that is incredibly smooth and soft to the touch, this massager features a uniquely designed shaft for intense erogenous zone stimulation. The piece begins with a simple rounded head, ideal for penetration or clitoral attention, while the shaft is accented by a series of raised rings, each slightly wider in circumference than the next as the shaft grows thicker toward the base.

These rings are great during insertion, but can also be used in a myriad of other ways, depending on what you like. A single push-button control on the bottom activates the three-speed action, sending waves of vibrating delight throughout the shaft, while the easy-to-hold shaft fits right in your hand. Last but not least, the waterproof construction makes this massager great for dry or wet encounters.

what i say:

the texture was super soft. i liked the silkie rubber. i can definitely see where the name comes from. the speeds didn't seem to differ much. i felt like the slow speed was the fast speed. but it maybe could have just been my lousy betteries. however, despite the speed, the volume was pefection. it was a simple buzz which was very hush hush. this waterproof goodie is a great beginner first! i think it's a nice realistic touch for the size.

maybe a bloggy giveaway is in the future....?

weekend getaway!

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

wowzers, it's been a few days since i've jumped on here. my apologies. i took the last few days off to regather after an exciting weekend getaway. and by take off, i really mean just take off from blogging. sadly, no taking off work for me. i don't get paid for my days off, so i have to take them sparingly. like my cousins wedding in less than two weeks. gosh, where does the time go?

anyway, last friday we stuffed seven people in an eight person car and headed to penn state for some bachelorette shananigans. once arriving safe and sound, we found out two of our rooms booked were smoking. major sad face since we all gag at the smell of ciggs. luckily, they cleared the air a little for our friday night sleeping arrangements and told us on saturday they would be able to move us into a non-smoking room.

friday night was a ton of fun! it was just the stout gals plus a stout girl friend.
{shout out to ya, stacy!}
the evening began with mexicana! and what a way to start.

hello there, tex mex...dos equis

salsa, quac, chips

dig innnnn

veggie enchalada

dinner consumption!

saturday consisted of breakfast at waffle shop/house? eh, i don't really know. i'm not a penn stater, ooops. but regardless of the name, my breakfast sammie was delish. bacon, scrambled eggies, cheese on an english muffin.
sadly, it wasn't overly filling. i should have gotten a side of fruit or sumthin'!

we then shopped around town a little, changed into our bathing suits and headed for the pool.

i completely dig penn state's olympic sized pool in the middle of their campus.
the afternoon was beautifully spent soaking up rays!

after a long day of sunbathing, we headed back to our hotel for showers.

next on the agenda:

champagne toast to jenni and a scavenger hunt!

the pretty bachelorette!

scav. hunt...

at last minute, a few of jenni's friends had to head home. so instead of breaking into teams-we did the hunt as one big group. many laughs!

ketchup bottles were stolen...

male models {er, strippers} were found...

boys were kissed...

shots were taken...

tramp stamps were given...

and then some amazing food was eaten....crab dip...divine! this stuff was just out.of.this.world.

those chips, to die for!

i don't eat potato salad because i really HATE mayo! BUT...my cousin told me that the deli's potato rocked and that i just HAD to try it. so since it was her weekend and all, i caved in and took a bite.i will go ahead and say it was decent. the mayo consistency freaked me out, though. but i'll try anything once.

bacon cheeseburger, lovessssss. it was seriously a really tasty burger. i would most definitely order this again and again. see those fries? yeah, that was as many fries as they brought out on my plate. made me giggle.

after dinner we bar hopped a little bit.

good thing we had our security with us...

and the matron and maid of dis-honor...

the gang....

this was probably my fave meal of the weekend...
this bacon, tomato and cheese omelette was just fantastic! and the home fries were banging. i couldn't get enough. i was seriously soooo stuffed but just kept shoving it in.
waffle house/shop, you really are a yummy place!

penn state, thanks for a grand time!
voila, that's a wrap kiddies!

*giveaway: go check out my girl jenny over at http://pbandjenny.com/
she is giving away a lovely little t-shirt
