I'd Never Spend My Money On. . .

Saturday, May 31, 2008

I am on a blog-a-thon.
I can't seem to tear myself
away from them. It's a
very sick addiction. One
that I just might need help
for. "Hello, my name is
Amanda and I'm addicted to
reading about lives of people
I don't know." I am just
so intrigued it's too difficult
to pull away. Psh.

My current blog of the moment
has given me this to model off of.
Holla.

Top 10 Things I'd Never Spend My Money On:

1-Lipo. I know how to eat healthy and exercise, thank you very much.
2-Botox. I'm all about aging gracefully.
3-Expensive jewelry. I'd just end up losing it.
4-Veneers. I like my real teeth just fine.
5-Some high-techy phone. If I can talk and text...I'm golden.
6-Electric toothbrush. I'm not that lazy.
7-Digital picture frame. But if someone wants to buy me one, I'll accept gladly.
8-Sunglasses that cost more than 50 bucks. Pah-leese.
9-Contacts just for the sense of changing the color of my eyes. Creepy.
10-Someone to clean my house, cut my grass, or open my pool. Why pay someone to do tasks that I am plenty capable of doing myself?

I Believe.

I Believe. . .

- That it is okay to wait until the last minute sometimes.

I Believe. . .

-That complaining makes me feel better.

I Believe. . .

-That my friends are part of my family.

I Believe. . .

-That I'm always right...even though I'm really not.

I Believe. . .

-You can't win unless you play.

I Believe. . .

-That sleeping until noon is okay.

I Believe. . .

-In fighting for what you want.

I Believe. . .

-That a card really is the best gift.

Happy Fabulous Friday!
And boy is it fabulous.
As a tribute to this
gorgeous day here in
Horsham, and the fabulousness
that is going on. . .

I want to give a shoutout
to all of the fabulous, frivolous
freakin', funnness that makes
my heart flitter at the moment.

J.Crew Flip Flops.
Scentsible Scents: Sleigh Ride.
Blake Lively.
The Sex and the City Movie.
Tostitos Lime Chips.
Text Messaging.
Big Sunglasses.
Being Tan.Catch Phrase.

Alright. There are about 25 other
things of fabulous status, but I'm
with child right now, (AKA-babysitting),
and he's getting grumpy, so I have to
go tend to him. . .

Start Of Something Beautiful-Twelve on Thursdays.

Thursday, May 29, 2008

I'm stealing this idea from
a blog I started reading today.
(Which I'm now pretty obsessed with)
I am pretty sure that she took
the brilliant post from another
blog...and so here is my alteration. . .
instead of Ten on Tuesdays, I'm going
to create Twelve on Thursdays.
It should be a good time.
Let's see how it goes.

12 Words To Describe You:
1-Creative.
2-Dorky.
3-Entertaining.
4-Loud.
5-Emotional.
6-Enthusiastic.
7-Random.
8-Confident.
9-Colorful.
10-Romantic.
11-Sassy.
12-Controlling.

She Deserves This.

I have had the same best friend
since first grade. No. Seriously.
I have. She is one of my very
exclusive Noodle Heads.

Sometimes I think I don't know
if I'd be the same person if she
wasn't in my life. We grew up
inseparable. We did everything
together in our elementary years.
We walked around in our
bright colored stretch pants because
we both didn't believe in jeans
in our adolescent years. Played the
same instrument, which I think was
more of a ploy to get out of class and
chat about our weekend plans together.
(Although our instrument playing days were very short-lived)
We liked the same names for
our Barbies, and agreed that our
cotton tye-dye overalls were just the coolest.
We even decided to sprain
our ankles at the very same time.
And ohh. When we were just teeny tiny,
we made a pact that we'd be best friends
forever, marry twins, have our first baby
at the same time, and live next-door to each
other. And while we were at it, be partners
in our publishing agency. I'd do the writing and
she would do the illustrating.
We had it all planned out.

Now we're not so itty bitty, and our dreams
have definitely altered. Granted-I'm still
pursuing my writing career-and when I do
get around to needing a book cover, you better
believe she will be the one I'll be calling.
Because despite our different group
of friends and the different places we are
in our lives, she still remains that same Noodle
Head of mine that I used to get in trouble
for chasing the boys around the blacktop with or
talking in the middle of reading. She is still the same
person that I used to spend every weekend with
because I felt like I would possibly die if she
wasn't a part of it.

It's weird to think that a friendship can
last that long. That one of us didn't flake
off, or become a gypsy or a hooker on the
side of York Road. Nah. Not us. For whenever
we're together, we go back to being
those same silly little girls strutting around
like big deals through the halls of
Blair Mill Elementary School.

Yes, real life has gotten in the way.
And we now have bigger
problems to deal with, but whatever
is thrown at us, we both know that
there is nothing too bad that a dinner
date, coffee break, or a Miller Lite
can't fix. Because whatever it is,
we're there to tackle it together.

And it sure is a good thing
I have all my memories of the two
of us...because for crying out loud, the
Noodle Head and I don't have like
one single picture of just the two of us.

I Believe.

I Believe. . .

-In wearing lot’s and lot’s of make-up.

I Believe. . .

-That it’s alright if I watch more TV

than I probably should.

I Believe. . .

That a brand new pair of

super cute, expensive shoes can

make me feel better.

I Believe. . .

-That Kelly Taylor shouldn’t have slept with Dylan

while Brenda and him were dating.

I Believe. . .

That kisses aren’t contracts, and presents

aren’t promises.

Been Way Too Longgg.

It's been 1.2 million years
since I think I've dropped
by on this bad boy.
Well okay. Maybe only
four months...but sheesh,
it seems way longer.

The weather is getting
warmer, school kiddies
are getting out, and the
ice cream man has officially
started making his rounds
through the neighborhoods.

Welcome to summer, baby!
